SAE Magazine 13-3

176 Malibu Golf Club was the venue for the event on Monday, June 24. Some of the most celebrated professionals from the recording industry gathered to enjoy the California weather, a beautiful golf course, good friends, good food, and a lot of fun in the name of charity. The event, sponsored by SAE Los Angeles, was hosted by co-chairs and Grammy award winners Ed Cherney and Al Schmitt. Organised by seasoned event veteran Karen Dunn of KMD Productions, the golf tournament gave industry professionals a chance to get out of the studio, hang out with friends, and have a great time while benefiting a worthy cause. Proceeds from the event were donated directly to the music and recording programme A Place Called Home, a community centre and safe haven in South Central Los Angeles. SAE Los Angeles volunteers were exclusively enlisted to ensure the smooth running of the event. SAE Los Angeles staff Johnnie Truesdale, Joe McGrath, Steve Sherman, and Mike Gerlach played a great round on the links while Campus Director Bridget Gardiner and Student Services Coordinator Jessica Ramos served up hamburgers. n EVENTS & ACTIVITIES // RECORDING INDUSTRY GOLFS FOR CHARITY SAE gets in charity swing
