292 Liverpool +++ From Creamfields To Moby Dick CampusNews SAE & SAE ALUMNI NEWS // EUROPEAN NEWS n SAE Liverpool students have been making themselves heard after leaping at the chance to get some industry experience. Oneoftheeye-openingexperienceswasarrangedby SAE Liverpool’s audio supervisor and head engineer at rock and live music venue Revolver, Jamie Hall. He paved the way for SAE Liverpool students to gain experience by working at a weekend live music event at the venue. Students were able to experience life on air when they spent the day behind the scenes at Juice FM, a local radio station. SAE audio students were also delighted to take part in Liverpool Sound City, the largest international music, digital and film festival and conference in the UK. The three day event in May welcomed over 360 artists, in over 25 venues in Liverpool’s city centre, with more than 40,000 music fans and 3000+ industry professionals attending. SAE Liverpool students’ busy schedule also saw them become the official sound technicians for the firstevermarathonreadingofthefamousnovelMoby DickatLiverpoolMaritimeMuseum.Theevent,again in May, took place over three days involving some 135 readers, each reading a chapter of the novel. The students also volunt audio interviews during th festival in August. Based in Cheshire, Engla included seven arenas, t thousands of dance music and Europe.
