376 Sydney +++ SAE Sydney ’Pax‘ a Punch at Gaming Eve CampusNews SAE & SAE ALUMNI NEWS // INTERNATIONAL NEWS SAE Sydney staff mixing with the best n THEY say three is the magic number and a trio from SAE Sydney have proved this is the case. SAE Sydney Audio Supervisor Espa Petridis and colleagues Ian Oh and Tye Pennington are in the running to win a prestigious MusicOz Awards after a successful venture into songwriting. For the past year Espa has been recording and mix- ing for local artist Hyjak - one of Australia’s most re- spected and innovative MCs who makes up half of Hyjak N Torcha (Obese Records). During the process of making the album, Espa took up an offer to write a few songs for Hyjak’s solo project. Espa enlisted Ian and Tye to help in the song writing process. The three would meet up at Espa’s studio space at Level 7 Studios where they would jam and share ideas. Before they knew it their work evolved from being “a few cool sounding ideas” to making it onto Hyjak’s album. Upon release the trio decided to enter one of their songs Is Anyone Home featuring Blake Galera- Holliss into the MusicOz Awards. Within a week the song made it to Number 28 on the People’s Choice Awards. Voting for the MusicOz Awards ended on August 31 –and everyone at SAE wishes Espa, Ian and Tye the best of luck. n Advert ace Radovan ge n SAE Sydney has enlis expert and master of the j manager.
