As part of SAE’s commitment to use the latest technology, the upgrade also stretched to a raft of new equipment. This included new audio mixing ‘mixdown’ stations, Mackie consoles and sound racks equipped with dynamics, effects and patch bays. The new additions allow the students to familiarise themselves with the basic, fundamental principles of analog mixing. The film department has also been revamped with new lighting kits and a new high-end digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera which has a variety of lenses. And a new range of iMacs in the practical area completed the upgrade. n
