During this period many picture books that used Hiragana writing appeared, making it easier for people, including children, to access these works. The demand was massive so many workshops started to get in on the act. Graphic artists knew that if they increased their graphic production they would obtain higher incomes. But if the number of people calling for an illustration increased, so would the topics.
