‘Silly Wizards’ Conjure Up Some Magic

It was ‘Game On’ for Omar Khan, Campus Academic Coordinator at SAE Institute Glasgow as he conjured up some magic with Silly Wizards at this year’s Global Game Jam event in Glasgow.

Omar with his friends, Jon McKellan and brothers David and Colin Farrel, were crowned Game Jam Scotland winners, part of the 48 hour Global Game Jam, which saw more than 300 entrants, descend on Glasgow Caledonian University to take part.

And they didn’t need any help from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to develop Silly Wizards – a multiplayer game on one device they made during the action-packed 48-hour games against the clock event.

Omar and his friends are no strangers to success when comes to developing award winning games. With over 1 million downloads of their BAFTA winning Lub v Dub, a self-published game released by Futuro, a small independent games production company they launched in their spare time.

As for the future, Omar said, “We’re very proud of our achievements, but won’t be developing Silly Wizards any further this time around as we already have another 5 games in development.”
