In honour of SAE Institute’s 40th anniversary, the SAE Alumni Convention 2016 remakes itself with a new concept in a new city: Cologne! On October 11 and 12, 2016, media professionals, students, and visitors will come together to experience seminars, an equipment exhibition, an awards ceremony and the legendary party at Cologne’s Palladium and E-Werk venues!
The event is open to media professionals and the public alike; admission to the exhibition – featuring more than 60 companies from the pro audio and video industries – and to the convention centre is free. Over the years, the SAE Alumni Convention has been gaining in importance within the media industry and has expanded to the point where new and bigger spaces are now needed to bring the experience to an ever-growing crowd of visitors. This represents a major step forward in the evolution of the renowned and popular event.
The convention is trading in its series of workshops in separate rooms for a modern, open-plan concept and a large hall with a variety of simultaneous seminars that attendees can tune in to via personal radio receivers. Listeners will be able to freely switch between seminars without having to give up their seats, and the number of potential attendees will effectively double.
The exhibition, boasting the newest products for pro audio, film, games and web, will also host technical lectures and individual consultations in the Palladium’s main hall. Shorter distances and a much more compact floor plan will boost the community and networking experience, with even the catering area in the gallery affording a full view of the convention below.
Palladium and E-Werk’s clean and industrial charm provides the perfect backdrop to the long-standing media event. The two venues are among the most popular event locations in the media metropolis Cologne.
There will also be some important changes to the schedule: on Tuesday October 11, SAE Alumni Convention XII will kick off at noon. On Wednesday, October 12, both venues will be open all day, followed in the evening by the awards show and the legendary party at E-Werk, featuring live music and star DJs, which will bring SAE Alumni Convention XII to its brilliant conclusion.
