78 STAFF PROFILE // CARLOS REYGADAS P ost Tenebras Lux marks the controversial director’s fourth feature film that has a very interesting and beautiful aesthetic element to it. I was naturally curious to learn the process that he undertook while creating this and his earlier films in general. Erick Delgado: What is the process you followed when making Post Tenebras Lux? CarlosReygadas:Theexperience that goes into every film I make is essentially the same, it´s birthed in personal experiences. A lot of people think that my film is very intimate. In reality it’s more per- sonal, in the sense that it portrays my real house, my kids; many things that occurred in the film I have actually lived. But in reality I don´t feel like it’s a particular intimate film because I don’t share many values that the characters have. Especially in the way these characters live their lives. But on the other hand I do relate to some of the experiences they go through living in the countryside. ED: What advantages do you see in the continuously evolving environment regarding the wide variety of formats avail- able to present a film in? CR: I feel that as a filmm tools at hand depending achieve. The moment you tools, you can begin to am I right? So, just like it that some point reached graphic perfection, espec and you could paint bodie dominate perspective, pe they could alter their imm pret it.
