264 Amsterdam +++ SAE film graduate sho CampusNews SAE & SAE ALUMNI NEWS // EUROPEAN NEWS n The audio department, initiated by lecturer Frank de Jong, organised two DEVnights to create audio material as part of our Interactive Animation students' game development projects. The games Asguardian (platform/action game) and Breed space (shoot'em up) took our audio enthu- siasts as far as going to shooting ranges in order for them to sample machine guns and all sorts of other fire arms in action. It's no surprise that Breed Space ended up being selected as the Alumni Junior Awards winning project at the last Alumni Convention in Berlin. That said, creating audio for games is not easy. Students stayed overnight in the school facilities to do sound design, Foley recording and voice overs. For Breed space, 5 soundtracks were created, 100 samples for voice overs, over 14 hours of Foley recording and countless sound design just in one night!
