Battle of the Bands n SAE Institute Nashville’s third annual Bat- tle of the Bands took place at The Rutledge. The competition was fierce but Kentucky’s own, The Dirty Grindstones, came out victori- ous. The event judges included Ingrid Fletch- er from Hitman Records, Preshias Harris from PCG Nashville artist development, producer/ engineer Chris Trevett, and SAE Institute sen- ior lecturer Alan Shacklock. We look forward to The Dirty Grindstones following in the foot- steps of our winners, eventually signing re- cord deals and touring the country. n Battle of the Bands Die dritte jährliche SAE Institute Nashville “Battle of the Bands“ fand inThe Rutledge statt. Aus dem heftigen Wettstreit gingen The Dirty Grindstones aus Kentucky als Sieger hervor. Die Jury des Events bestand aus Ingrid Flet- cher von Hitman Records, Preshias Harris vom PCG NashvilleArtist Development, Produzent/ Engineer Chris Trevett und SAE Institute HauptdozentAlan Shacklock. Wir hoffen, dass The Dirty Grindstones eines Tages in die Fuß- stapfen früherer Gewinner treten, Plattenver- träge unterschreiben und durch das Land tou- ren. A Taste of Nashville n Students from the ATPFT2010 class made their way out to the local A Taste of Nashville event, to provide live sound for Jazz and R&B performers. The event housed between 800- 1000 guests, featuring local notables, con- gressmen and state legislators. The event was a huge success, as our SAE students rocked it! n A Taste of Nashville Studenten des ATPFT2010 fuhren zum loka- len A-Taste-of-Nashville-Event, um sich um den Live-Sound für Jazz- und R&B-Künstler zu kümmern. Unter den achthundert bis tau- send Gästen waren lokale Bekanntheiten, Kongressabgeordnete und weitere Politiker. Der „Rock‘n‘Roll“-Einsatz der SAE-Studenten machte es zu einem riesigen Erfolg. The event was open to the public and thetheatrewaspacked.Samhasworked with artists like Mariah Carey, Monica, Justin Bieber, Ginuwine, Chris Brown and countless others. He is not just a great engineer ... he is a great example of the modern audio profession. n Fünfmaliger Grammy-Gewinner – Engineer Sam Thomas Der mit Grammy Awards ausgezeichnete Engineer Sam Thomas besuchte das SAE Institute Atlanta, um Themen wie moderne Musikproduktion, Aufnahme- und Mixtech- niken sowie die Audio-Industrie heutzutage zu diskutieren. Das öffentliche Event war bestens besucht. Sam arbeitete schon mit Künstlern wie Mariah Carey, Monica, Justin Bieber, Ginuwine, Chris Brown u.v.m. Er ist nicht nur ein großartiger Engineer ... Er ist ein großartiges Beispiel für den modernen Berufszweig Audio. SAE Institute cares n A13-year-old by the name of Madison Rose received an unexpected gift from SAE this past June. Due to an extended hospital stay, in order to recuperate from an emergency liver transplant, Madison began to lose touch with friends and fall behind on her school work. With a dona- tion of an Apple Macbook from SAE, and the help of SAE Atlanta’s Brandy Castle, Madison will now be able to keep up with her studies and more importantly, visit her friends via Skype. n SAE Institute kümmert sich Die 13-jährige Madison Rose erhielt diesen Juni ein unerwartetes Geschenk von SAE Institute. Aufgrund eines langen Kranken- hausaufenthalts zur Erholung von einer Notoperation an der Leber begann Madison den Kontakt zu ihren Freunden zu verlieren und fiel in der Schule zurück. Durch das von SAE Institute gespendete MacBook und die Hilfe durch Brandy Castle, SAE Institute Atlanta, kann Madison nun in der Schule mithalten und, viel wichtiger, ihre Freunde per Skype besuchen.
