The event, a Speed Networking Professional Development event was co-sponsored by SAE Institute and featured music industry experts JonathanAdel- man (Paradigm Agency), Johnny Beach (Bow- ery Presents), Sarah Cunningham (The Cham- ber Group), Jonathan Daniel (Crush Management), David Massey (Universal Mu- sic) and Rich Stumpf (Imagem). SAE Institute New York bei NARAS n SAE New York Studenten hatten das Privi- leg, ein spezielles Event des New Yorker Re- cording Academy Chapter zu besuchen. Digital vs Analog Shootout n Christopher Spahr from Sennheiser elec- tronic visited SAE InstituteAtlanta for an analog vs digital microphone shootout. Students as- sembled new digital microphones from Neu- mann featuring Solution-D technology, as well as a few top of the line analog microphones from both Sennheiser and Neumann. The as- sembled microphones were then used to record both guitar and vocal to Pro Tools. Digital und analog im Vergleich n Christopher Spahr von Sennheiser electro- nic besuchte das SAE InstituteAtlanta für einen Vergleichstest zwischen Digital- undAnalogmi- krofonen. Die Studenten bauten Neumann-Di- gitalmikrofone mit der neuartigen Solution-D Technologie sowie einige der Top-Analogmik- rofone von Sennheiser und Neumann auf. Mit diesen Mikrofonen wurden dann in Pro Tools Gitarren und Gesang aufgenommen. SAE Atlanta collaborates with the Lennon Bus & Collective Soul n Select SAE Atlanta students were invited onto the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus to compose, arrange, record and mix an original song with Will Turpin and Joel Kosche from the multi-platinum band, Collective Soul. The Len- non Bus staff recorded behind-the-scenes video footage of the students, which was cut into a music video for the song. The students enjoyed this collaborative effort and had a great time working with Will and Joel. SAE Atlanta kollaboriert mit dem Lennon Bus und Collective Soul n Ausgewählte SAE-Studenten durften im John Lennon Bildungs-Tourbus mit Will Turpin und Joel Kosche von der mehrfach mit Platin ausgezeichneten Band Collective Soul ein Lied komponieren, arrangieren, aufnehmen und ab- mischen. Das Team des Lennon Bus machte hinter den Kulissen Aufnahmen von den Stu- denten und nutzte diese für das Video zum Song. Die Studenten genossen das gemeinsa- me Schaffen und die großartige Zeit mit Will und Joel. SAE New York hosts iZotope n SAE Institute New York students were able to spend an evening with producer/engineer Phil Ramone (Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney and Madonna), producer/engineer Frank Fili- petti (James Taylor, Carly Simon, Barbara Streisand) and mastering engineer Adam Ayan (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails). The event was hosted by mastering engineer Jona- than Wyner (David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith) of M-WORKS mastering studio. The group discussed music production, chang- es in the music industry and then held a Q&A with the students. Recording Academy Event Digital vs. Analog Shootout Lennon Bus and Collective Soul iZotope USA / New York USA / Atlanta Not So Silent Night n SAE Institute San Francisco teamed with the local radio station, Live 105, to present Not So Silent Night, a holiday concert in Oakland, CA that featured Jane’s Addiction, Florence and the Machine and more. A month before the event, both SAE and Live 105 organ- ised a music workshop for local bands, featuring music producers, radio programmers, publicists and talent bookers. Not So Silent Night n SAE Institute San Francisco und das Lokalradio Live 105 präsentierten in Oakland, Kalifornien, ge- meinsam die Not So Silent Night, ein Ferienkonzert mit Jane’s Addiction, Florence and the Machine und an- deren Bands. Einen Monat vor dem Event organisier- ten SAE und Live 105 für lokale Bands einen Workshop mit Musikproduzenten, Radiomachern, Presseagen- ten sowie Talentsuchern. Not So Silent Night Winner Soundtrack Beat Battle n SAE Institute Nashville hosted platinum re- cording artist MIMS and the winner of Nash- ville’s Soundtrack Beat Battle, Dirty Rice, to record their collaborative effort with 20 hours of free studio time. Nashville instructor Alan Shacklock and students Dustin Jones and Sam Clifton engineered the session. Soundtrack Beat Battle n SAE Institute Nashville hatte Platin-Künstler MIMS und den Gewinner des Nashville Sound- track Beat Battle, Dirty Rice, der 20 Stunden Studiozeit gewonnen hatte, zu Gast. Die Zwei nahmen dort zusammen mit Dozent Alan Shacklock und den Studenten Dustin Jones und Sam Clifton ihr gemeinsames Werk auf. Mims USA / Nashville Live from the Control Room n Last year, SAE San Francisco introduced Live from the Control Room, a multi-tiered competition open to local music producers and SAE students. Live from the Control Room included a number of local nightclub events and studio competitions, which cul- minated with an album and video release. The project featured participation from some of the Bay Area’s most respected artists, such as Moe Green, A-Plus (Hieroglyphics) and Lateef. Live from the Control Room n Letztes Jahr stellte SAE San Francisco Live from the Control Room, einen mehrstaf- feligen Wettstreit für lokale Musikproduzen- ten und SAE-Studenten vor. Bestandteil von Live from the Control Room waren Club- Abende und Studio-Competitions, die ihren Höhepunkt in einer Album-Veröffentlichung fanden.
