The students are enjoying the comfortable environment, high technical standards and have already begun their practi- cal assignments with JVC 100HM and Canon 550D cameras under the supervision of expe- rienced staff. The number of participants and the students’ interest show that the number of applications for upcoming courses is certain to increase. SAE Istanbul becomes service sponsor of !f Istanbul Film Festival n The !f Istanbul International Independent Film Festival was founded in 2001 and hosts some 70,000 film buffs and celebrated filmmakers from around the world every February and March. This year SAE Istanbul is the service sponsor of !f Istanbul. SAE students will be film- ing and editing festival events during !f Istanbul. SAE students will also have the chance to meet professionals and will get free passes for screenings & other events. Students started using studios & cameras SAE Istanbul becomes the service sponsor of !fIstanbul Film Festival 3D Animation Students Work on Prestigious Stage Production n Students from the 3D Animation diploma programme had the unique opportunity to work alongside the Head of the Animation Depart- ment, Predrag Milosevi����������������������ć���������������������, to produce the com- plete virtual stage background for the annual traditional celebration called Svetosavska Aka- demija. This year’s ceremony was unique because of the special virtual stage design: the entire stage was mapped with animations developed in co- operation with SAE’s 3D animation students. “This was a great opportunity for the young animators to demonstrate their skills and talent through this hands-on project. The animation diploma programme aims to offer its students as much practical experience as possible, so that they can adjust to the professional environment during their studies, which gives them a head start when they enter the industry” explained Predrag Milosevi�����������������������������������������������������ć����������������������������������������������������, Head of the Animation Department. This year’s cer- emony was attended by both the President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, as well as many other dignitaries. Studenti 3d animacije proizveli virtualnu scenografiju za tradicionalnu Svetosavsku akademiju n U januaru 2012. studenti Diploma programa katedre za 3d animaciju SAE Instituta Beograd imali su jedinstvenu priliku da, zajedno sa šefom katedre Predragom Miloševićem, proiz- vedu kompletan program za tradicionalnu Sve- tosavsku akademiju. Ovogodišnja svečanost bila je posebna zbog specijalne virtualne scenografije : kompletna scena bila je mapirana animacijama, na čijem radu su učestvovali studenti smera 3d anima- cije SAE Instituta Beograd. „ Bilo je ovo odlično iskusvo za mlade animatore koji su svoj talenat pokazali i kroz ovaj praktičan rad. Posebno nam je zadovoljstvo bilo učestvovati u obeležavanju najvećeg školskog praznika. SAE Institut Beo- grad se trudi da svojim studentima pruži zaista najbolju moguću praksu, kako bi se oni, još u toku studiranja prilagodili profesionalnom okruženju, koje ih svakako očekuje posle završenog školovanja.“ - kaže šef katedre za 3d animciju Predrag Milošević. The event’s stage background – animation & mapping by SAE students Belgrade Istanbul Audio Engineering Students on Assignment at Belgrade Arena n Last November, SAE Belgrade’s Audio En- gineering students had the opportunity to work and learn alongside industry professionals, set- ting up and running live sound systems at Bel- grade Arena for a series of major concerts at- tended by over 60,000 people over three nights. During each concert, SAE students had a unique opportunity to experience and learn first-hand from Studio Berar’s team of pros about the full spectrum of high end profes- sional live sound issues, from FOH, monitoring, wiring, processing, harnessing, etc. A big thanks goes to Studio Berar and their crew for supporting SAE Belgrade and its students. This was one of the many initiatives that Belgrade’s Audio Department has organised in 2011 as part of its successful and popular “learning by doing” approach. Studenti Audio katedre SAE Instituta Beograd u beogradskoj Areni n Prošlog novembra, studenti katedre za audio inženjering SAE Instituta Beograd imali su je- dinstvenu priliku da uče i rade zajedno sa pro- fesionalcima iz industrije na postavljanju i po- kretanju live sound sistema u beogradskoj Areni. Povod za ovu praktičnu vežbu bila je realizacija serije velikih koncerata kojima je prisustvovalo više od 60000 ljudi, tokom tri noći. Tokom svakog koncerta, SAE studenti imali su mogućnost da iz “prve ruke” od profesionalaca iz “Studija Berar” ovlašćenog zastupnika reno- miranih svetskih proizvođača profesionalne audio i rasvetne tehnike, iskuse i nauče lekcije iz oblasti profesionalnog live sound-a , od rada na FOH-u, monitoringu, kao I sistem inženjeringu … Ovo je bila jedna od mnogobrojnih inicijativa koju je beogradski kampus organizovao za studente audio katedre tokom 2011. godine, kao deo poznate I proverene SAE “learn by doing” metode. Belgrade’s Arena Venue Stockholm An eventful 6 months at SAE Stockholm n We have had an eventful half-year with nu- merous events and new courses topped off with great lecturers from the audio/music industry, such as: • workshops with industry partners (AVID, Sen- nheiser, Neumann, Rebeat, Milab and Nu- feeld). • practical recording sessions for the students at Soundtrade Studios with artists including The Troubled Three, Tomas Castro and Fhloston Paradise. • DAW test with the Swedish Sound Engineer- ing Society for their members and our stu- dents. • seminars with the famous Örjan Strandberg (arrangement, copyrights etc.), the artist Filteria (music production/Logic Pro) and the artist IAwake (music production/Ableton Live). During these 6 months we also kitted out our studios with new Pro Tools HD/Native systems, all workstations were replaced and two new short courses premiered. Sex händelserika månader på SAE Stockholm n Vi har haft ett riktigt händelserikt halvår med otaliga events, uppgraderingar och nya kurser toppat med tunga föreläsare från ljud/musik- branschen, som tex: • Workshops med industripartners som bla AVID, Sennheiser, Neumann, Rebeat, Milab och Nufeeld. • Praktiska inspelningslektioner för elever i Soundtrade Studios med artister som The Troubled Three, Tomas Castro och Fhloston Paradise. • DAW-test med SSES (Swedish Sound Engi- neering Society) för deras medlemmar och våra elever. • Seminarier med bla den berömde Örjan Strandberg (arrangemang, upphovsrätt mm), artisten Filtera (musikproduktion/Logic Pro) och ar- tisten IAwake (musikproduktion/Ableton Live). Alex has had two songs on the Billboard and his company has released songs with art- ists such as Avicii. Daniel Ravald (2006), FOH technician (live), recently worked as Head Sound & Lighting Technician for Royal Carib- bean International and has also worked with TheArk, Looptroop Rockers and Pernilla Wahl- gren. Jakob Hazell (EMP 2008) has written/ produced Jay Smith – Dreaming People (Idol winner and no.1 on the Swedish top list) and Sterling Knight – Starstruck for Disney among others. Christopher and Niklas Lunde “Lunde Bros” (EMP and Audio 2010) producers/DJs who have released multiple songs, supported by the likes of David Guet- ta and have supported artists such as Pete Tong and Eric Prydz. Fredrik Sonefors (2008) songwriter/producer who runs his own production com- pany and has worked with artists such as Ace Of Base, Love Generation and Lazee.
