This title, regis- tered at the NCPR is a new pledge of profes- sionalism and employability for trainees com- ing from SAE Paris. Students in the 3 year cycle “Audio Engineer Program” get the title after the first 2 years of training before obtaining their “Bachelor ofArts” at the end of the course. Trainees from the 1 year “Technicien Son” get this Level 3 at the end of the course. They can then, if they wish, continue a course of a year to get the “BA.” All the certificate courses of SAE Institute Paris can also be validated as part of the VAE (Validation des Acquis d’Expérience professionnelle). Producer Anthony Dent at SAE Paris n SAE Institute Paris has had the pleasure of receiving on its premises American ur- ban music producer Anthony Dent (Jay Z, Destiny’s Child, LL Cool J, Aretha Franklin, Notorious BIG) for a conference dedicated to his vision of music production. For nearly 4 hours, Anthony Dent detailed his career and the keys to his success as a producer and composer. For over 2 hours, he then listened to students demos and gave them some precious advice. Le producteur Anthony Dent à SAE Paris n Récemment, SAE Institute Paris a eut la joie de recevoir dans ses locaux le producteur de musique urbaine américain Anthony Dent (Jay Z, Destiny‘s Child, LL Cool J, Aretha Franklin, Notorious BIG ...) pour une conférence dédiée à sa vision de la pro- duction musicale. Pendant près de 4h, Anthony Dent a expliqué son parcours et les clefs de son succès en tant que producteur et compositeur. Pen- dant plus de 2h, il a ensuite écouté les maquettes des étudiants présents et leur a donné ses conseils les plus avisés. Music Production Workshop at Studio 85 n Audio students at SAE Institute had the chance to have a full 6-day workshop at Stu- dio 85 in the heart of Paris. Throughout the week, Guillame André (ex-SAE student, au- dio engineer and owner of Studio 85) and Renaud Rebillaud (audio engineer) shared their experience in music production, record- ing and mixing while working on two tracks with the students. It was a unique opportu- nity for the students to attend a professional session in a large commercial studio.An- other big thank you to Guillaume & Renaud. Workshop de production musicale au Studio 85 n En Janvier 2012, les étudiants de la section audio à SAE Institute ont eut la chance d‘avoir un workshop de 6 jours complets au studio 85 situé au coeur de Paris. Pendant toute la semaine, GuillaumeAndré (ex-étudiant et SAE, ingénieur du son et propriétaire du studio 85) et Renaud Rebil- laud (ingénieur du son) ont partagé leur expérience de la production musicale en enregistrant et mixant 2 titres complets avec les élèves. Une chance unique pour tout étudiant d‘assister et de participer à des séances professionnelles dans un studio commercial d‘envergure. Encore une grand merci à Guillaume et Renaud pour ces quelques jours riches en enseignement. SAE Paris Anthony Dent at SAE Paris – Icon Studio Guillame André et Renaud Rebillaud at Studio 85 Students of SAE Paris with Yves Jaget for the Zazie tour n Yves Jaget (Sound Engineer and French Director for Zazie, Higelin, Sting, Pat Metheny, Jean-Louis Au- bert, Indochine, MC Solaar, Pascal Obispo, Florent Pagny, Johnny Halli- day, The Bastards, Vanessa Paradis, William Sheller, Thiéfaine, Véronqiue Sanson, Pink Floyd, Nina Hagen) was kind enough to welcome students from SAE Paris during his visit to the Maison des Arts in Crétail for the Zazie tour. During both visits, which lasted almost 5 hours each, students from SAE Paris were able to see all the famous French artist’s show technical details, attend the “line check” and ask any questions to one of the most famous French engineers. A big thank you to Yves Jaget and the entire technical team, and a big thank you to the SAE Alumni Association for making this event possible. Les élèves de SAE Paris avec Yves Jaget sur la tournée de Zazie n Yves Jaget (ingénieur du son et réalisateur français: Zazie, Higelin, Sting, Pat Metheny, Jean-Louis Aubert, Indochine, MC Solaar, Pascal Obispo, Florent Pagny, Johnny Halliday, Les enfoirés, Vanessa Paradis, William Sheller, Thiéfaine, Véronqiue Sanson, Pink Floyd, Nina Hagen ...) nous a fait l‘amitié d‘accueillir les étudiants de SAE Paris les 09 et 10 Novembre 2011 lors de son pas- sage à la Maison des Arts de Crétail pour la tournée de Zazie. Lors de ces deux visites qui ont duré presque 5h chacune, les étudiants de SAE Paris ont pu voir tous les détails techniques du show de la célèbre artiste française, assister aux „line check“, et poser toutes leurs questions à l‘un des plus grand ingé- nieurs du son existant. Un grand merci à Yves Jaget ainsi qu‘à toute l‘équipe technique; et un grand merci à l‘association des anciens élèves SAE Alumni France pour avoir rendu cet évènement possible. Yves Jaget on Zazie tour Acoustic jazz recording/mixing workshop at Lizard Sound Studio n SAE Athens’ students had the opportunity to participate in an advanced workshop based on acoustic jazz recording and mixing techniques. The workshop was presented by SAE Athens’ lecturer, Dimitris Karpouzas, at his studio, Liz- ard Studio. Dimitris, who specialises in the jazz genre, is considered one of the most talented and skilful audio engineers in Greece. He has worked with top international jazz artists and was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on Yorgos Fakanas’ album “INTERSPIR- IT” (legendary musicians likeAnthony Jackson, Dave Weckl and Frank Gambale also played on this album). The workshop’s aim was to analyse the working methods of recording and mixing an acoustic jazz trio/quartet/quintet and to provide the students with hands-on practical experience. All the students recorded an acoustic jazz group (drums, double bass, piano, alto sax, trombone) “live” along with Dimitris and then each student had the opportunity to make their own mix. Acoustic Jazz Recording/Mixing workshop στο Lizard Sound Studio n Οι σπουδαστές της SAE Athens είχαν την ευκαιρία να λάβουν μέρος σε ένα workshop υψηλών προδιαγραφών σχετικά με την ηχογράφηση και μείξη ακουστικής jazz. To workshop πραγματοποιήθηκε στo Lizard Sound Studio από τον ιδιοκτήτη του και εισηγητή της SAE Athens, Δημήτρη Καρπούζα. Ο Δημήτρης θεωρείται ένας από τους πιο ταλαντούχους και ικανούς νέους μηχανικούς ήχου στην Ελλάδα, με εξειδίκευση στη jazz μουσική. Έχει δουλέψει με κορυφαία διεθνή ονόματα ενώ ήταν και υποψήφιος για Grammy για τη δουλειά του στο άλμπουμ του Γιώργου Φακανά “INTERSPIRIT” (ένα άλμπουμ στο οποίο έχουν παίξει θρυλικοί μουσικοί όπως οι Anthony Jackson, Dave Weckl και Frank Gambale). Στόχος του workshop ήταν η μελέτη τεχνικών ηχογράφησης και μείξης ενός ακουστικού jazz τρίο/κουαρτέτο/κουιντέτο, παρέχοντας στους σπουδαστές πρακτική εξάσκηση. Οι σπουδαστές ηχογράφησαν ζωντανά ένα ακουστικό jazz σχήμα (τύμπανα, κοντραμπάσο, πιάνο, σαξόφωνο, τρομπόνι) σε συνεργασία με τον Δημήτρη και ύστερα ο καθένας τους είχε την ευκαιρία να κάνει τη δική του μείξη. Digital film-making students at DOC TV meet-up n SAEAthens was the main sponsor of the first DOC TV meet-up event, while digital film-mak- ing students undertook roles and participated in the film coverage of the event. The main guest at the event was Brandon Lit- man, producer of the global film project “One Day On Earth”. Brandon presented a very in- teresting discussion forum based on project management and production skills. The event also involved DJ sets by some of the most tal- ented and successful Greek electronic music producers. The musical highlight was a live performance by the swing/ jazz quintet, Gadjo Dilo Swing Quintet. Gadjo Dilo’s live show of was filmed by SAE Athens’ dig- ital film-making students. We are already looking forward to the next meet-up event! Οι σπουδαστές του Digital Film Making στο DOC Tv Meetup n Η SAE Athens ήταν ένας από τους βασικούς χορηγούς του πρώτου meetup του DOC Tv, ενώ οι σπουδαστές του Digital Film Making συμμετείχαν στην κινηματογράφηση της εκδήλωσης. Ο μεγάλος καλεσμένος της εκδήλωσης ήταν ο Brandon Litman, παραγωγός του διεθνούς κινηματογραφικού project “One Day On Earth”. Ο Brandοn έκανε μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα παρουσίαση σχετικά με θέματα διαχείρησης μεγάλων project και παραγωγής. H βραδιά συνεχίστηκε με dj sets από γνωστούς Έλληνες παραγωγούς και djs, ενώ η μουσική κορύφωση ήρθε με τη live εμφάνιση τoυ swing/jazz σχήματος των Gadjo Dillo Swing Quin- tet, η οποία κινηματογραφήθηκε από τους σπουδαστές του Digital Film Making.
