With this in mind SAE Leipzig acquired a brand new information bus which not only looks good but is also very practi- cal. In addition to the traditional outfit- ting of a rack, mixing desk and work station, the bus can also be custom- ised with camera and film technology. Now workshop participants, trade fair visitors and other interested parties have the opportunity to do more than just hear about SAE Leipzig but have a chance to learn first hand about the practical aspects offered. And they say you can’t combine theory and practice. So ... keep on moving! SAE Leipzig on the move n Auf einem rollenden Stein wächst kein Gras. Gemäß dieser Auffassung verfügt die SAE Leipzig nun über ei- nen brandneuen Infobus, der nicht nur optisch sondern auch funktional so einiges hermacht. Neben der klassi- schen Ausstattung, bestehend aus Rack, Mischpult und Workstation, lässt sich der Bus auch individuell mit Ka- mera- und Filmtechnik bestücken. Ob Workshopteilneh- mer, Messebesucher oder allgemeiner Interessent – nunmehr hat jeder die Möglichkeit sich nicht nur theoretisch über das Studienangebot der SAE Leipzig zu informieren, sondern kann direkt vor Ort erste Einbli- cke in die praktischen Facetten der angebotenen Studi- engänge gewinnen. Und da soll noch einmal jemand behaupten, Theorie und Praxis ließen sich nicht verbinden. In diesem Sinne: keep on moving … SAE Leipzig information bus News made in Döbeln n An SAE Leipzig workshop took place at a school in Döbeln under the banner of interdis- ciplinary teaching. 9th grade pupils were given the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and ability in the areas of audio books, photog- raphy and web design. Creating a news pro- gramme was very demanding on the organisa- tion skills and team spirit of the participants. News made in Döbeln n Unter der Flagge eines fächerverbindenden Unterrichts fand ein Workshop im Gymnasium Döbeln zusammen mit der SAE Leipzig statt. Schüler der 9. Klasse hatten in diesem Zusam- menhang die Gelegenheit, ihr Wissen und Kön- nen unter anderem in den Bereichen Hörspiel, Fotografie und Webdesign unter Beweis zu stellen.Vor allem die Erstellung einer eigenen Nachrichtensendung verlangte den Beteiligten eine Menge Organisationstalent und Teamgeist ab. Und da der Mensch bekanntermaßen dazu neigt, seine schönsten Momente mit der Welt zu teilen, gibt es neben einer öffentlichen Aus- strahlung der Sendung im lokalen Fernsehen natürlich auch das obliga- torische Making-Of unter http://youtu.be/J0cjllCjZSI Cross Media Production & Publishing programme commences n In September last year the new Cross Media Production & Publishing programme com- menced at SAE Leipzig and we are pleased to have finally added a programme for people interested in journalism, social media and PR to our portfolio. As preparation for the new pro- gramme not only did the courses offered have to be extended, but also new equipment ac- quired. In addition to a digital SLR camera (Canon EOS 600D) plus lenses, additional workstations were kitted out with the appropri- ate software. The students are motivated, the lecturers too of course – what could possibly go wrong? Studiengang Cross Media Production & Publishing angelaufen n Im September letzten Jahres startete in der SAE Leipzig das neue Cross Media Production & Publishing Programm und wir freuen uns, zusätzlich zu unserem bereits angebotenen Portfolio, endlich auch eine Anlaufstelle für alle Journalismus-, Social Media- und PR-Interes- sierten sein zu dürfen. Im Zuge dessen wurde nicht nur das Kursangebot aufgestockt, son- dern das Equipment ebenfalls: Nebst einer di- gitalen Spiegelreflexkamera (Canon EOS 600D) mit dazugehörigem Objektiv wurden zudem weitere Arbeitsplätze mit entsprechen- der Software eingerichtet. The huge LAN party at “Northcon 2011” was enjoyed by nearly 3000 visitors / users. SAE Institute Hamburg auf Deutschlands größter Netzwerkparty n Das SAE Institute Hamburg war mit einem Messestand auf deutschlands größter Netz werkparty vertreten. Die überdimensionale LAN-Party der „Northcon 2011“ erfreute sich knapp 3000 Besucher bzw. User. Well attended SAE meet-up n Regular SAE meet-ups take place in Ham- burg. These give the Hamburg SAEers the op- portunity to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere. At the last two SAE meet-ups around 100 en- thusiastic SAEers were present to enjoy mulled wine, compared notes with other media fans, talk shop and generate jobs and projects. Due to the cold weather at the end of 2011 the SAE Institute Hamburg team treated everyone to a glass of hot mulled wine. Gut besuchte SAE Stammtische n In Hamburg finden regelmäßig SAE Stamm- tische statt. Die Hamburger SAEler haben so die Möglichkeit in ungezwungenerAtmosphäre Kontakte zu knüpfen. Bei den letzten beiden SAE Stammtischen waren jeweils knapp 100 begeisterte SAEler vertreten, genossen einen Glühwein, tauschten sich mit anderen Medien- begeisterten aus, fachsimpelten und generier- ten Jobs und Projekte. Aufgrund der kalten Jahreszeit gegen Ende 2011 schenkte das Team des Hamburger SAE Institutes heißen Glühwein für alle Anwesenden aus. Student Liaison Manager at SAE Institute Hamburg n Sebastian Twele has been the Student Liai- son Manager at SAE Institute Hamburg since the end of 2011. The owner of the “Session-in- progress” sound studio first studied Audio En- gineering at SAE Institute Hamburg before becoming a supervisor, coordinator and lec- turer in 2007. His work as SAE Alumni Chapter President (Chairman of the former SAEer Ham- burg) is now combined with new responsibilities in the area of student mentoring.Active communication between industry and education as well as assisting the students to successfully find work now falls under Sebas- tian Twele’s remit.
