Australia  / Adelaide Australia / Melbourne Adrian Whalland – EMP Course Coordinator Adelaide n EMP course coordinatorAdrian Whalland has been working overtime writing and re- leasing a number of tracks under his alias ‘Atomitek’(with co-producerAlex McKenzie) as well as a through his drum and bass act ‘Kamuku’, whose first EP was signed by UK label, Extent VIP Recordings. Kamuku’s de- but 4-track EP Vintage Stapler which was released recently has so far received “great feedback” saidAdrian, who describes the EP by saying “as far as my own music output goes, this is the most excited I’ve been about one of my own releases as it feels a bit more original and the quality is where I want it to be.” Kamuku has also just signed their second EP to Extent VIP last week, which is set for release in the not-too-distant future. Trotz seiner Erfolge ‚außerhalb‘ räumtAdrian ein, dass die Sache, auf die er karrieremäßig am stolzesten ist, der am SAE InstituteAdelaide 2005 gestartete Elec- tronic Music Production Kurs, den er immer noch unterrichtet. Greg Chalmers and Robert Cumming, otherwise known as “brokeNdjs”, studied the EMP course in 2010 and since completing have focused their energies to- wards DJing regular gigs at city nightclubs. The pair are Melbourne born-and-bred and have been friends since finishing school together. Both were stoked to have attained the number one spot; attributing some of their success to studying the EMP course at SAE they said: “It was a real help having a teacher that had the same interest in dance music and dance music production/DJing. His knowledge definitely helped shape the course with many pointers learnt from previous ex- periences. Course emphasis around marketing was also vital, as this helped us promote our work.” n Nr. 1 Auszeichnung für zwei Melbourner EMP-Absolventen Zwei Studenten vom SAE Institute Melbourne schafften es in Triple J Uneartheds Dance Voting auf Platz 1. Das in Melbourne geborene und aufgewachsene Duo ist bereits seit seinem gemeinsamen Schul- abschluss befreundet. Beide waren von ihrer Erstplatzieurng begeis- tert; einen Teil ihres Erfolgs schreiben sie dem EMP-Kurs bei SAE Institute zu. Sie sagten: „Es war eine große Hilfe, einen Lehrer zu haben, der dasselbe Interesse an Dance Music und Dance Music Production / DJing hatte. Sein Wissen und seine Erfahrung trugen definitiv zum Kurs bei.
