Amsterdam EUROPE n On the 22nd of June, a bus full of students and staff went south to attend the “Building for the Future” event at Galaxy Studios in Belgium. During this exciting event several pres- entations, panel discussions and dem- onstrations were given. The SAE Insti- tuteBrusselsmanager,RobinReumers, gave a presentation about “the future of music distribution“ and our Senior De- gree lecturer Tom Pearce gave a pres- entation about audio for games. Be- sides these presentations, visitors could attend several other audio, music and film related demonstrations. The event was the official launch of Auro- 3D, a new 3D audio format developed by Galaxy Studios, and the announce- ment of the Galaxy Studios expansion. Many industry professional were pre- sent, making it a great networking event for students and staff. n Building for the Future bij Galaxy Studios Op 22 Juni vertrok een bus vol met stu- denten en medewerkers naar het zui- den om aan het „building for the future“ evenement bij Galaxy Studio in België deel te nemen. Tijdens dit indrukwekkende evenement werden verschillende presentaties, pa- nel discussies en demonstraties gege- ven. De manager van SAE Institute Brussel, Robin Reumers, gaf een pre- sentatie over „the future of music“. Daarnaast verzorgde onze Senior De- gree leraarTom Pearce een presentatie over audio voor games. Naast deze presentaties konden bezoekers ver- scheidene audio, muziek en film gere- lateerde demonstraties en workshops volgen. Het evenement was de officiële aankondiging van Auro-3D, een nieuw 3D audio format, ontwikkeld door Ga- laxy Studios en de uitbreiding van hun faciliteiten in Mol. Vele mensen uit de media industrie waren aanwezig, waar- doorhettevenseenfantastischnetwerk evenement voor studenten en mede- werkers was. Hollywood Producer Tom Kane in Amsterdam n SAE Institute Amsterdam hosted the 3-day Film Production workshop by Hollywood producer Tom Kane. Being the only European location for this workshop, SAE was very pleased to support this event with Tom giving an exclusive free workshop to SAE Institute students only called ‘Decon- structing the Shot’. This workshop was attended by both SAE Amsterdam and Rotterdam students . It was a great experience for both SAE staff and students, given by an amazing character. Tom is a Hollywood producer working with films like; Kramer vs Kramer, Raging Bull and Taxi Driver. We are happy to announce that Tom will be back in 2012. n Hollywood producent Tom Kane in Amsterdam In Juli, SAE InstituteAmsterdam pre- senteerde de 3-daagse Film Produk- tie workshop van Hollywood produ- cent Tom Kane. Om dit de enige europese locatie was voor de work- shop, was SAE erg verheugd om Tom hierin te ondersteunen. Naast de 3-daagse workshop gafTom Kane een exclusieve gratis workshop voor SAE Institute studenten met als titel ‚Deconstructing the Shot‘. Tijdens deze workshop waren zowel studen- ten van SAE Amsterdam als Rotter- dam aanwezig. Het was een uitzon- derlijke ervaring voor zowel de SAE medewerkers als de studenten. Tom Kane is een Hollywood producent voor films als: ramer vs Kramer, Ra- ging Bull en Taxi Driver. In 2012 komt Tom Kane weer terug naar Amster- dam.
