044 SAE & SAE Alumni NEWS // European News Munich Stuttgart Workshops at SAE Munich n There have been numerous workshops offered at SAE Munich this year. Friedemann Kootz visted us with a very interesting workshop on the topic “Loudness War”. The Avid Tour visited SAE Munich and Christoph Stefan von Steinberg presented the new products and showed us plen- ty of tips and tricks. n Workshops bei SAE München Zahlreich waren heuer auch die Workshops die an der SAE München angeboten wurden. So besuch- te uns z.B Friedemann Kootz mit einem sehr inte- ressanten Workshop zum Thema „Loudness War“. Die Avid Tour gastierte bei uns, sowie Christoph Stefan von Steinberg gab sich die Ehre mit Pro- duktneuheiten und jeder Menge Tips und Tricks. SAE Working the Festival Scene n SAE students have worked on some rather di- verse stages ever the last six months – from work- ing as a stage hand for BrianAdams at theTollwood Festival to being behind the camera at the Voix- musik Festival in Tegernsee with Haindling and Peter Cornelius. n SAE goes Festival Auch im letzten halben Jahr waren SAE Studenten hinter diversen großen Bühnen anzutreffen. Ob als Stagehand bei Brian Adams auf dem Tollwood Festival, oder an der Kamera beim Voixmusik Fes- tival am Tegernsee mit Haindling und Peter Cor- nelius. SAE film students, Udo Kier and Raphael Löhle UDO KIER – a very special meeting n Our students were permitted to take on the role of cameramen for the DVD production “Hexen bis aufs Blut gequält”. The recorded interview can be seen on the DVD. The complete technical implementation of the interview was carried out solely by the Munich film students. It’s amazing how a professional actor can make even the interviewer sweat. Udo Kier – one of the greats. n Ein Treffen der besonderen Art: UDO KIER Für die DVD Produktion „Hexen bis aufs Blut gequält“ durften unsere Studenten die Funktion des Kameramanns übernehmen. Auf der DVD wird das aufgezeichnete Interview zu sehen sein. Die technische Umsetzung des Interviews wickelten dabei die münchener Filmstudenten komplett ab. Es ist schon erstaunlich wie ein Schauspielprofi sogar den Interviewer ins Schwitzen bringen kann. The appropriate sound to accompany the high-end images must also not be neglected. A visit to Staufenpark in Göppingen to SWR’s Tiger- enten Club broadcast (Tigerente is a German children’s TV and book character) gave our students the chance to inspect a brand new HD outside broadcasting vehicle. The students were able to ask the employees plenty of ques- tions about the equipment and procedures. This was a very successful component of the workshop, after all two of the audio engineers were also former SAE students. n Tigerenten Workshop HD Film und Bildmaterial ist aus modernen Produktionen nicht mehr weg zu denken.Auch der passende Ton zum High End Bild darf da- bei nicht vernachlässigt werden. Eine Exkur- sion zum Staufenpark in Göppingen zur Über- tragung des Tigerentenclubs vom SWR hat unseren Studenten die Möglichkeit gegeben einen brandneuen HD- Übertragungswagen zu besichtigen. Die Studenten konnten dabei den Mitarbeiter vor Ort reichlich Fragen zu der Ausrüstung und den Abläufen stellen.
